100% Syrah sourced from The Rocks Vineyard. The wine spent 18 months in neutral puncheon/barrel. The finished wine is dark, brooding, incredibly rich, complex, refined and ethereal. There is a wonderful elegance flowing with its power. Aromatics of seared beef filet mixing with a creamy blackberry/vanilla gelato. The wine has hints of soy sauce, warm stones and a finish that goes on almost endlessly.

2020 In The Hills Estate Syrah Walla Walla Valley

The 2020 Syrah In The Hills is another wildly aromatic wine from Matt Reynvaan. Blackberries, bloody blue fruits, iron, peppery herbs, and violet notes all define the aromatics, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with a pure, elegant, focused mouthfeel, plenty of fine tannins, and a great finish.

 

The Pinot Gris opens up with a nutty, flowering fruit fragrance, along with citrus notes and a hint of bacon. The palate is slightly creamy with nice fruit flavors. The wine has a lively acidity, fine tannins, some mineral notes which then give way to a with creamy tart finish.

Insania is sourced and produced from  renowned German winery Familie Rinklin. The winery is located on the eastern edge of the sunny Kaiserstuhl, that small, volcanic elevation, between the Black Forest and the Vosges. The best conditions for viticulture have been abundant for 2000 years there  or ever since the Romans made the vines native to the area. Family owned and operated, Friedhelm Rinklin is the winemaker and vineyard manager, making sure his farm has been managed organically since 1955! Wife Anne has her hands in nearly all aspects of the winery as well. Together they are noted for producing exceptional wines from Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. Geoff Tate’s passion for wine and German heritage made this winery a natural fit for this exciting venture.
